abstract = "The study of induced lightnings are of great relevance because
with the increasing of vertical cities, there may be a
corresponding increase of upward lightning started from a tall
structure connected to the ground toward cloud. Then, risks
associated with these discharges should also be considered for the
protection of persons and property. In this context, the objective
of this study is to determine the characteristics of storms that
generate upward lighting. From the data collected in 2012 until
2016, it could be recorded 140 upward leaders that started from
one of the towers located on Pico do Jaragu{\'a}, in S{\~a}o
Paulo with the aid of a few ultra-fast cameras. For analysis of
these discharges and corresponding storms, satellite imagery were
collected and images of electromagnetic sources of lightning
measured by SPLMA and LINET from January to march in 2012 and
after by BrasilDAT and STARNET until june 2016 were generated.
Besides that, images of reflectivity data from radar S{\~a}o
Roque, FCTH and IACIT (CAPPI product) in the period of January and
march 2012 that measured precipitation during the experiment
CHUVA-GLM Vale do Para{\'{\i}}ba, from the radar S{\~a}o Roque
(CAPPI product) from april 2012 to march 2015 and from radar FCTH
(PPI product) from january 2014 to june 2016 were plotted. Based
on analyzes of the horizontal structure and on the signature of
the radar bright band, most of the precipitation could be
categorized as stratiform, with reflectivity lower than 40 dBZ.",
